John was born to Frank and Opal Garro on July 31, 1951 in Buffalo, Wyoming.  He grew up with his three brothers, Joe, Eddie and Mike, and his sister, Francis.  He graduated from Johnson County High School in 1969.  On December 7, 1974 he married Wanda Cohee in Buffalo.  They raised three children, Michael Cohee, and Joshua and Shelby Garro.

John was a truck driver; spending many years working for the Wyoming Highway Department in addition to running his own trucking business.  He loved spending time with his grandsons, Ethan and Nickolas Devlin.  He thought that it was important to teach them what he knew so that they could use those skills someday.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda, son, Joshua Garro, daughter, Shelby Garro, step-son Michael Cohee, and grandsons, Ethan and Nickolas Devlin, all of Kaycee, Wyoming; as well as his brothers Joe Garro, Eddie, Mike Garro and sister, Frances Gladden, and many nieces and nephews, friends and fellow drivers.  John is preceded in death by his parents.
