Clare Marie Casey was born on January 8, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to Arnold and Cecilia Forsman, one of four children.  She attended Catholic grade and high school, graduating in the Tigard, Oregon area.  She received a B.A. in education from the Oregon College of Education.  She thereafter taught school and worked clerical jobs.  She married Tom Casey, on July 2, 1977, and they had two children, Joe and Cecilia.  They were married 41 years at the time of her death.  Clare and Tom retired, then in 1994, and they moved to Buffalo.  She was an avid horse person all her life, raising and training many horses for both riding and driving.

She loved to travel and took numerous trips with her daughter, Cecilia.  She also traveled and camped with Tom, all the way to the Arctic Circle and beyond.  For the past several years she was a regular volunteer at the Learning Tree, which she loved doing.

Clare is survived, and greatly missed by her husband, Tom; son, Joe and grandson, Ryan of Topeka, Kansas, and loyal horse-loving daughter, Cecilia of Ohama, Nebraska; brother, Ed Forsman, and sister, Joanne Stevens.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother.
