Lois L Morton, 88, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Sheridan, Wyoming.
She was born October 14, 1928, in Crab Orchard, Nebraska to Logan and Laura (Ervin) Powell. She graduated from high school in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
On August 17, 1946, she married Gaylord V. Morton in Torrington, Wyoming. They subsequently had two sons.
She was a loving wife and mother. She was an active member of PEO for more than 50 years, a member of the Sheridan First Presbyterian Church and a member of Eastern Star. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano lessons in Sheridan during her younger years. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining, and travel. Lois and her husband moved multiple times with his employment and enjoyed all the States and friends they made along the way. In 2010 she returned to Sheridan, Wyoming from Tucson, Arizona to be close to family.
She is survived by her two sons Gary (Diane) Morton of Sheridan, Wyoming, Roger (Joyce) Morton of Helena, Montana, four grandsons Scott, Michael, Garet, and Nicholas, and two great grandchildren Ryan and Kimberly. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Donnelly of Loveland, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gaylord, and two sisters, Meleese Housen and Eunice Allison.
Cremation has taken place. In accordance with her wishes, graveside services will be held at a later date in Torrington, Wyoming.
