Joyce Marie Arbogast, 87, of Sheridan, died Friday, May 25, 2018 surrounded with the love and devotion of her children, who were at her bedside.

She was born April 13, 1931 in Hopkinton, New York to Mareman and Ethel Castle. She had happy memories of growing up on a small farm with her 3 sisters Mabel, Jane, and Connie.
Joyce married James A. Greenwood in 1948 and they had three children (Lois, Linda and Larry). James worked road construction and they traveled to many states. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and outdoor activities. James and Joyce had a loving and happy life together until James died at the age of 44 in 1970. After his death, Joyce concentrated on raising their teenage children and giving them the love and guidance of a loving mother.

Joyce married Donald R. Arbogast in November of 1982. They had a loving marriage for 34 years, until Donald died in December of 2016.
Joyce was a much, loved Mother and Grandmother. She deeply loved her family and put them first. She was joyful and playful when she was with those she loved. She had a sense of humor, strong determination, faced obstacles with strength, and loved any time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was competitive, especially with board games. Joyce was the family champ at Othello and checkers.

Joyce enjoyed sewing and made many beautiful quilts. She also, loved taking care of her plants. If one of the family’s plants were failing, they would take it to her and it would then flourish. Joyce and her husband grew great gardens and she would do a lot of canning for the winter.

She is survived by her Children, Lois Bluemel, Linda Affinito, and Larry Greenwood; her grandchildren, Jim Bluemel, Charlene Moeller, Charlie Bluemel, Jason Greenwood, Art Greenwood, Jacob Affinito, and David Affinito. She also, had 7 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild; and sister, Sharon Warner.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Greenwood and Don Arbogast; and her 3 sisters, Mabel Deon, Jane Palmer, and Connie Bogart.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
