Hallie Jane (McCoy) Oleson Oct 12, 1943 – Dec 31, 2018

Today, the world is less bright and 2019 begins without the loving warmth of the beautiful lady who has graced us with her smile, her laughter, her tears and her loving and generous heart for the last 75 years. Hallie Jane (McCoy) Oleson, Jane to most, born October 12, 1943, left our world December 31, 2018. She passed surrounded by her youngest son, Casey, her dearest sister-in-law, Kathy McCoy and her daughter-in-law to be, Kathy Baker. She was very close in the hearts and thoughts of those who could not be there, her daughter Carmen and her oldest son, Sonny, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and so many family and friends. Her love and laughter will forever be in our hearts and she will be remembered with love, smiles and tears as we continue on without her.

She was born in Upton, Wyoming on October 12, 1943 to Lee and Alice McCoy. She met and married Victor Ray Oleson on May 27, 1960. He worked for the railroad and they, along with daughter Carmen, son Sonny lived in many little towns over her lifetime, settling in Newcastle in 1975. Ray and Jane were surprised by baby girl, Jamie, who unfortunately was stillborn in 1978. Her youngest son Casey arrived in 1980. Jane distributed the newspaper for many years prior to obtaining her CNA license and working for Weston County Manor and Hospital until her retirement. She lived in Texas with son Casey for a time and then moved to Buffalo Wyoming before settling in Sheridan, where she resided until her passing.

Jane was passionate about Bull Riding and her Cubs, she and Kathy McCoy attended multiple Bull riding events and a live Cubs game. The two of them had many adventures and enjoyed a life-long friendship. Jane loved her family and was a devoted friend. She spent her working years as a CNA, and was dedicated to her “old people”. She cared for her mom, Alice McCoy, in her later years, until her death at 103 years of age. She loved her kitty (Kya) and was fond of Cardinals (the bird, not the team). She loved to gamble and spent many hours in Deadwood playing the nickel machines, often accompanied by her good friend Jean as well as her granddaughter, Jessica. One of her frequent sayings was “Love you 1800 millions.”

Jane was widowed on January 1, 2000 when her husband, Ray, and her heart of 39 years left our world. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Alice McCoy, her sisters: Mary McCoy, Alice Marie (Smith), Ila (Cornelius), Edith (Inich), Anita (Dial) brother, Kenneth McCoy and infant daughter Jamie.

She is survived by her brother Rusty (Patty) McCoy, sister-in-law Kathy (Kenneth) McCoy, daughter Carmen (Mick) Esquivel, sons Sonny (Fiona) and Casey (Kathy B), grandchildren: Jessica (Mike), TJ (Temah), Tanner Kyller, Baileigh, Megan, four great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Sam, Baker and Ellis and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and adopted family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Newcastle Senior Citizens Center in Newcastle, WY.  Online condolences may be written at www.championfh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Champion Funeral Home in Sheridan, WY.
