Funeral services for Susan Gibbs, 61 year old Buffalo resident who died Sunday in a one vehicle accident near Worland, Wyoming will be held Saturday, April 29th at 2:00 p.m. from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Ruby officiating.  A private family interment will be held in Willow Grove Cemetery.  Donations in Susan’s memory may be made to the Jim Gatchell Museum in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Susan Gibbs was born on March 11, 1956 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Robert and Martha Gibbs.  She grew up and went to school in Buffalo and graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 1974.  After high school she attended Business College in Rapid City, South Dakota.  After college she went to work for Amax Coal where she drove a haul truck.  She was married on October 5th, 1979 in Buffalo to Richard Bobbitt and they made their home in Aspen, Colorado and were later divorced.  Susan was a bookkeeper and later worked as a ski instructor for the Aspen Ski Company where she worked for thirty years.  During the off season for skiing she trained horses. She was married in the Spring of 1998 to Andreas Fischer and they made their home in Carbondale, Colorado.  She retired in October of 2016 and moved back to Buffalo where she lived until her death.

 

She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.  Her passion was training horses and she was active in Wind Walkers Equine Therapy in Carbondale, Colorado.

 

She is survived by her mother, Martha Gibbs of Buffalo; three brothers John and Scott Gibbs both of Buffalo and Jim Gibbs and his wife Janina of Arvada; two nephews, Tyler Gibbs and his wife Lauren of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Marshall Gibbs of Shell, Wyoming; and two nieces K.J. White and her husband Dario of Casper, Wyoming and Megan Gibbs of Arvada, Wyoming.  She was preceded in death by her father and one nephew Zac Gibbs.
