Hazel “Sue” Verley, 74, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born to parents Uel and Marion (Potts) Compton on December 17, 1942, in Basin, WY. She married Marvin Verley on March 25, 1960.
Sue was an avid Elvis fan. She enjoyed violets, bingo at the Manor, sewing, gardening, dancing, working at the WYO Theater and her little black dog. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Uel and Marion, husband, Marvin and brother, Norman. She is survived by her children, Christy Verley, Randy Verley, Allen Verley all of Sheridan, siblings, Bert Compton of Miller, SD, Bob Compton of Tensleep, WY, Rex Compton of Tensleep, WY, Ula (Russell) Dickerman of Casper, WY, Casper, WY, David (Janice) Compton of Casper, WY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials to honor Sue may be made to Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter, 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801 or to Rocky Mountain Ambulance, 731 Broadway Street, Sheridan, WY 82801.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the Sheridan Manor Chapel.
