Johnson County Clerk Vicki Edelman announced to the Commission on Tuesday morning that department budgets have been received and are down from last year’s requests by slightly more than $600K but still totals nearly $12 million.

Anticipated revenue is down slightly with an estimate of $6.3 million.

The preliminary budgetary needs total slightly more than $47 million, compared to last year’s starting amount of $45 million.

The Commissioners took their first look at the budget yesterday afternoon with departmental budget hearings scheduled for June 12th through the 14th.

Special district hearings will follow, with final budget to be set on July 17th.
