SHERIDAN, WY— A large bull-snake caused a widespread power outage that affected Sheridan, Ranchester, Dayton and the surrounding areas, according to MDU.

The outage occurred around 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday. MDU Crews worked quickly to restore power.

According to MDU, crews had power restored to most of  the affected areas around 1:30 P.M.

MDU officials said a snake crawled into one of Sheridan’s main power substations and shorted out the system.
