Healthcare workers across the nation have been lukewarm in their interest to receive the available COVID-19 vaccinations.

Those healthcare professionals were at the forefront of the national, state, and local priority lists to receive the vaccines when they became available in January.

However, only slightly more than 50% of nurses, aides, and physicians have been inoculated with either the Pfiser or the Moderna vaccines.

In Sheridan, willingness to receive the vaccine has been surprisingly positive compared to the national hesitancy, according to Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Addlesperger…

Hospital CEO Mike McCafferty also reported that the percentage of medical staff receiving the vaccine was around 87%.

The hospital continues to operate its vaccination clinic daily and are now administering the Pfiser vaccine with Sheridan Public Health handling the Moderna vaccine.
