The Buffalo City Council last night approved plans to hold the fireworks for “Light Up Buffalo” this Saturday evening following the annual Christmas Parade.

Sponsored this year by the Buffalo High School’s FFA Chapter, the popular event was postponed last weekend due to the blizzard conditions.

The FFA will also show the Grinch movie at the Buffalo Theater at 9am, followed by cookie decorating at Bomber Mountain Civic Center from 11 to 1 in the afternoon.

The rescheduled “Light Up Buffalo” plans now wrap around the Chamber of Commerce chili feed at Crazy Woman Square and the Christmas Magic parade that begins at 6pm.

Before Buffalo’s Main Street businesses are in the spotlight on Saturday for the 3-2-1 sale and the parade, the annual Fort Street Candy Cane Lane Christmas Stroll is scheduled for tomorrow from 3 to 6pm.

15 locally-owned businesses along Fort Street are participating with great deals and drawings for prizes.

One of the events postponed last weekend was the Jim Gatchell Museum’s Holiday Open House.

It has been rescheduled for this Saturday from 10am to 3pm.

Director Sylvia Bruner previewed the events with these comments…

Visitors will receive 10% of in-store purchases.
