Wyoming ranks 4th in the nation in the number of suicides and events like Johnson County’s “Hike for Hope” provides a great opportunity to remind area residents of the need to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health issues.

This year’s “hike” is scheduled for this Sunday, with check-in at 1:30pm and opening ceremonies planned for 2pm, located in Crazy Woman Square.

Participants are encouraged to register online at afsp.org/JCH4H.

Every year, the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Johnson County also recognizes that 22 US Armed Forces veterans die each day by suicide.

The mission of the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Johnson County is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma, and serve as a resource to the community, especially those touched by suicide.
