The statewide mask mandate will end next Tuesday, but a variance ended the face covering requirement in Johnson County back on February 24th.

With that variance in effect and the availability of the vaccine, the county has NOT seen a rise in COVID-19 cases.

As of yesterday, there were no COVID cases in Johnson County and according to Sean McCallister, the CEO at the Johnson County Healthcare Center, the hospital is relaxing some of the restrictions that have been in place for several months…

As of Monday evening, 1771 1st dose vaccinations have been given to Johnson County residents and 909 2nd doses.

The county is currently working through Priority list 1c that includes individuals ages 50 to 64 who have no health issues as well as those younger residents who do have health issues that place them at higher risk of contracting the virus.
