House Speaker Eric Barlow is being pressured to introduce HB256 on the floor of the House of Representatives.
The Wyoming Sovereignty Act supports the integrity of the US Constitution and would “audit” Wyoming’s relationship with the federal government in accordance with the Constitution.
The bill would also establish a standing committee to deal with federalism and procedures for dealing with unconstitutional federal actions.
In short, the legislation, if passed and signed by the Governor, would require all laws to comply with state and federal constitutions.
HB256 is co-sponsored by State Senator Bo Biteman and Representative Mark Jennings, both of Sheridan County, along with 12 other legislators.
