A surprise winter blizzard has stopped travel dead in its tracks across northeastern Wyoming, shutting down roads and interstates. As of 7:04 a.m. WYDOT had closed Interstate 90 all the way from the Montana state line to Gillette and Interstate 25 from Buffalo to Casper.
As of this morning, WYDOT expects it to take as long as 11-13 hours to get all of the roads opened again. WYDOT also wants to remind the public that parking on the road is prohibited and will delay plows from getting the road re-opened.
Once the road is reopened, conditions will still be dangerous, so it might be best to reconsider and postpone any travel plans that were made for today.
