SHERIDAN, WY— Despite the sub-zero temperatures, firefighters all around Sheridan County were busy on Wednesday.

At 7:38 A.M. firefighters from Ranchester Fire and Dayton Fire were called to a chimney fire on Halfway Lane, between Ranchester and Dayton. The chimney fire was extinguished without incident and without any damage caused to the structure.

At 8:43 A.M. Goose Valley Fire Department, Sheridan Fire-Rescue, and the Clearmont Volunteer Fire Department were paged to a structure fire on Taylor Road, outside of Sheridan.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a large shop with an attached residence fully involved. Firefighters worked until around 1 P.M. to extinguish the fire. They were able to stop the fire from completely burning through the residence portion of the structure, but the attached barn was completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no serious injuries.
