In recent days, State Senator Dave Kinskey told Big Horn Mountain Radio that the Wyoming Legislature’s Joint Judiciary Committee may seek to extend the availability of the 24/7 Sobriety Program in next year’s budget session.

According to Kinskey, Wyoming residents whose convictions were alcohol-related would be subject to twice-daily breathalyzer tests and could be jailed immediately upon failure.

While the program is available in all counties, it is not currently being used in Johnson County and Sheriff Steve Kozisek explained why…

Due to education and enforcement, Kozisek has seen a reduction in drunk driving arrests…

That being said, there are still places throughout the state where the continued availability of the 24/7 program could be helpful.
