A group of property owners expressed their displeasure to the Buffalo City Council yesterday evening over the location and the completion of the Dump Draw Detention Pond on the west edge of the city.

The FEMA project was developed to mitigate flooding issues but Dennis Lawrence, speaking on behalf of the West Valley Homeowners Association, told the council that proper notice was not provided to homeowners in the area…

Realtor and homeowner Kitty Merrill expressed concern that the location of the 45 foot dam will adversely affect property values…

Both Merrill and Lawrence stated the location of the detention pond is much closer than originally stated by project engineers.

The council took no action regarding the issue.
