SHERIDAN, WY— The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office has taken a report of several thefts from rural mailboxes that have taken place sometime between July 23 and July 25, 2019.

The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind all citizens to not leave mail in mailboxes for prolonged periods of time and to report any thefts of mail to their local Law Enforcement Agency of their Postal Inspector.

The suspect or suspects, in this case, were opening mail and it is believed they were looking for anything of monetary value. If citizens are missing anything of monetary value please contact the source of the item for cancellation and notify their local Law Enforcement Agency or their Postal Inspector.

Citizens should keep an eye on current accounts for suspicious activity and if any suspicious activity is noticed contact the business the account is with as soon as possible.
