In preparation for the possibility of continued falling property valuations, the Johnson County Commission announced the implementation of an Early Retirement Incentive Program.
The program provides an opportunity for county employees to receive an incentive payment should they choose to retire.
Earlier in the meeting, Commissioner Bob Perry commented on the need to reduce staffing in anticipation of future budget restraints…
County employees who have reached retirement age and are fully vested could receive as much as $5K if they agree to retire before the end of August of this year.
Lump sum payments of up to $15,000 are also available for employees who are not eligible to retire but agree to leave employment before September of this year.
