During last week’s Board of Health meeting with the Johnson County Commissioners, Veterinarian Dr. Dwayne Christensen indicated the potential for Chronic Wasting Disease now affecting wild game in the area.
Christensen credits the migration of elk and deer over the Big Horn Mountains for the current risk.
While there has been no cases of the disease being transferable to humans, hunters should be very careful whendressing wild game that did not appear to be healthy when killed.
