Tomorrow’s first annual Buffalo Trails Noxious Weed Pull Day has the support and involvement of no less than four local, state, and federal agencies.

Co-sponsored by Johnson County Weed & Pest, the US Forest Service, BLM, UW Extension, and Clear Creek Conservation District along with the Trails System, it’s a coordinated effort to control the spread of invasive noxious weeds.

According to Thad Barrett of the US Forest Service, the event kicks off a summer long effort that needs the public’s involvement…

There is a bounty on the noxious weeds that pay $.50 per pound for those organizations wishing to participate in the program.

The day begins at 8:30 Saturday morning at the BLM/Forest Service Parking lot and culminates with a BBQ in Washington Park later in the day.
