The Occidental Hotel& Saloon will host yet another bluegrass music event this weekend.

Popular bluegrass artist Lorraine Jordan and members of her Carolina Road band will be performing tonight and Saturday night as part of another four-day Spring Jam.

Last night, the Thursday Night Jam session kicked off the music at the Saloon and renowned songwriter and Occidental owner David Stewart shared what’s in store for local music lovers in the remaining three days…

Lorraine Jordan is known in the bluegrass community as the “Lady of Tradition” and has recorded a number of Stewart’s songs from the “gold” recording of True Grass to the bluegrass chart topping “Bill Monroe’s Ol’ Mandolin…

Stewart and members of Prairie Wildfire will open each evening show at 7pm.

Tickets are on sale for $10 for each evening session and $30 for a weekend pass.

The Bluegrass Spring Jam will finish on Sunday morning with a gospel hour with music and a message from Pastor Doug Hainer.
