Should there be a daily fee for Buffalo’s historic outdoor pool?

The Buffalo City Council tabled its decision on Tuesday night after members of the city’s pool board brought a fee schedule proposal forward during council’s meeting.

Travis Lawrence and Richard Wonka told the council that the board has been considering a number of options in an effort to raise money for the inevitable need to replace the aging and very popular outdoor pool.

Here’s Lawrence on the board’s concern…

The “nominal” fee that is being proposed is $3 per day with the possibility of family or season passes at a discounted price.

Wonka considers the pool an asset that is not being treated as such…

The Council chose to table any action on the proposal to allow time to properly consider the daily fee for the pool that has always been free for public use.
