Wesley Leonard Kopman passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at his home in Billings at the age of 85 years and 2 months. He was born to Felma and Leonard Kopman on March 14, 1932, in Fredonia, ND.

Wesley served in the U.S. Air Force from March 1952 to March 1956. He married Elna Homola on September 25, 1955. In 1956 they moved to Battle Ground, WA from Texas. He worked for 25 years for the City of Vancouver in the Engineering Department, retiring in 1982. After he retired he enjoyed gardening and woodworking. In 2002 he moved to Billings, MT, to be closer to the children, where he lived until his death.

Wesley was a sincere life long member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. His steadfast faith and love was great strength to all that knew him. The highlight of Wesley’s life was the visits from his grandchildren, family and friends.

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents Felma and Leonard Kopman, brother Frank, sisters, Clara, Kathrine, Alice and JoAnn and daughter, Teresa. He is survived by his wife, Elna of 62 years, 9 children; Randal (Edith) Kopman of Datil, NM, Debora (Bryan) Schuster of Sheridan, WY, Connie (Randy) Reed of Pinedale, WY, Kevin (Grace) Kopman of Lake Norden, SD, Elizabeth (Keith) Schillereff of Kalispell, MT, Mary Kopman of Paso Robles, CA, Jonathan Kopman of Silver City, NM, Kristina (Dave) Refsland of Georgetown, SC, Carolyn (Darren) Johnson of Billings, MT, 46 grandchildren and 72 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 1 sister, many niece’s and nephews and a host of dear friends.

A Visitaion will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
