SHERIDAN, WY— Weatherby, Inc. celebrated their grand opening in Sheridan’s Hi-Tech Business Park on Thursday, marking the company’s official move from California to the Cowboy State.

Over a thousand people flocked to the company’s new manufacturing facility to partake in festivities which included facility tours, food trucks, live music, presentations from Adam and Ed Weatherby, and a host of speakers including former Wyoming Governor Matt Mead, Wyoming First Lady Jennie Gordon, and Sheridan Mayor Roger Miller.

The ceremony culminated with a ribbon cutting of the new facility, performed by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce.

The ribbon cutting was followed by an auction of several collectible Mark V Wyoming Gold Edition Weatherby rifles, including serial numbers WY000003 and WY000307, in reference to Sheridan County and Wyoming.

Weatherby is an American firearm and ammunition manufacturer that was founded in 1945 by the current President and CEO, Adam Weatherby’s grandfather, Roy Weatherby. The company currently employs 80 full time employees, 50 of which were hired from Sheridan County.

The company has been in the process of relocating from their former headquarters in Paso Robles, California since 2014.
