National “Walk to School Day” takes place this week across the country. Thousands of schools have signed up to participate. 2018 marks the 22nd year of this event. Elementary and middle schools in Buffalo and Kaycee will be participating for the first time this year. “Walk to School Day” is Tuesday (Oct 9) in Kaycee, and Wednesday (Oct 10) in Buffalo. This event helps promote physical activity and pedestrian safety. Local police officers will be present at all crosswalks along the route. Officials are expecting approximately 1,000 Johnson County students to participate. Kaycee students will meet at the Kaycee General Store at 7:30 am (Tuesday, Oct 9); and Buffalo students will meet at the park by the city pool at 7:30 am (Wednesday, Oct 10).
