There is a proposal being considered in Wyoming Legislature’s Joint Transportation, Highways, and Military Affairs Committee to make Interstate 80 into a toll road.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation has studied the possibility ten years ago but no recommendation was made to the legislature.
Some in the legislature claim that in addition to the high cost of maintenance, I80 is also considered dangerous.
Tolling could cover the cost of widening the highway to make it safer.
