Police officers in Sheridan will be out in force Saturday morning to take less-fortunate kids out for a fun day. Saturday, the annual “Shop With A Cop” program will take place at Sheridan’s Walmart. Lieutenant Travis Koltiska of the Sheridan Police Department said that hopefully all of the officers in Sheridan will be present to take the children out for a day of Christmas shopping, all paid for through donations collected by the department.
Koltiska said that this is expected to be the largest turnout of kids that the program has ever taken.
Koltiska explained that the police department has collected approximately $4,500-$5,000 in private donations to fund the program. The program is expected to last from 8am to about noon.
