Sheridan School District 1 Joining Lawsuit Over Funding

Sheridan School District 1 has joined the Campbell County School District and other Wyoming Schools with the intent on suing the state over inadequate school funding.

The vote Tuesday night was unanimous for the district to participate in litigation that is the first step in filing a lawsuit.

State Senator Bruce Burns of Sheridan had sponsored legislation during the last Wyoming Legislative session that would have prevented Wyoming school district from using educational funds to sue the state over budget cuts.

Senate bill 135 never made it out of committee during the general session earlier this year.
