The Sheridan Jaycees held their annual shopping tour on Saturday over the weekend. Thirty-three volunteers took 50 kids, who were deemed to be ‘in need,” shopping for clothing at Walmart, out to breakfast at the Real Life Church, and for a fun afternoon at Sheridan’s Centennial Theater.

Jessica Martin, one of the Jaycees who organized the event, said that this is the 54th year of the kids shopping tour. Martin added that the Jaycees rely on donations, as well as grants from Walmart and the “Cloud Peak Grant” that total to about $10,000.

The Jaycees also held several fundraisers at Luminous Brewhouse that raised close to an additional $1,000.

Martin said that if anyone is interested in volunteering with, or becoming a Jaycee, they should visit the Sheridan Jaycees Facebook page, or attend meetings which are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 6pm at the Holiday Inn.
