Sheridan Fire-Rescue and the Sheridan Police Department responded to a structure fire at 425 West Burkitt Thursday afternoon at around 1:45 pm and found a single story home with smoke showing. The homeowner advised crews that there were two pets still inside the house which were eventually rescured. The fire was quickly brought under control at 1:55 and the crew transitioned to checking for extension of fire into adjacent areas of the home. One person is currently displaced due to the extent of damage to the house. No civilians or emergency personnel were injured during this fire.
