Private family interment for Robert Bowlby, 81 year old Buffalo resident who passed away quietly at his home in Buffalo, surrounded by his family, will be held in New Jersey. Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Robert Charles Bowlby was born on February 5, 1936 in Oldwick, New Jersey. He was married to Adair L. Carman on June 30, 1957. Bob and Adair owned and operated Robert C. Bowlby Excavating for many years in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. They retired in 1985 and enjoyed full-time RV travel until Adair’s sudden death in 2004. Bob lived in Buffalo in the summers and spent the winters traveling in his RV.
He is survived by two daughters Shawn Hunt and her husband Bobby of Annandale, New Jersey and Dr. Adair (Bowlby) Joskow and her husband Pete of Cody, Wyoming; two granddaughters, Stefanie Albrecht and her husband Joe of Branchburg, New Jersey and Ariane Joskow of Cody; one “almost” son Skip Doodson of Exeter, Maine; his companion Glenda Bishop of Buffalo; “bonus” daughter, Karen Blaney and her husband Tim of Buffalo and “bonus” granddaughters, Bridget, Morgan and Kaitrin Blaney.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Adair.
