Obituary:
Richard Metcalf, 69, of Story, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at his residence. He was born on January 31, 1947, in Buffalo, WY, to parents Richard and Roberta (Raitt) Metcalf. He married Carol Forsberg on April 30, 1966 and served in the US Navy for four years.
Richard enjoyed the outdoors, tinkering in the garage, telling stories, camping, 4-wheeling, his job as a Heavy Equipment Operator and he especially loved his wife of fifty years, mom, children and grandchildren.
Richard was a member of Our Lady of Pines Catholic Church, American Legion, UMWA and the Story Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard, grandparents, and grandson, Ethan Faurot. He is survived by wife, Carol, mother, Bobbi Metcalf of Sheridan, WY, children, Richard L. (Lana) Metcalf of Soldotna, AK, Ryan (Maureen) Metcalf of Sheridan, WY, Racine (Chad) Lydic of Sheridan, WY, grandchildren, Ashley (Preston), Makayla, Ryan, Bechler, Hudson, Tory (Mackenzie), Mason and great grandson, Bridger.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016, at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Ron Stolcis officiating. A reception will be held at the Story Women's Club following the service. An inurnment will be held at a later date in the Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, WY, with Military Honors.
