Governor Matt Mead discussed a number of revenue sources during his press conference last week.

Among those mentioned was the possibility of a gross receipts tax for Wyoming.

State Representative Mike Madden explained how such a tax would work…

The legislature’s joint revenue committee will be hearing from an expert on the topic from the American Tax Institute during its meeting next week in Thermopolis.

Madden was quick to point out that a gross receipts tax will not be implemented during next year’s budget session…

The proposal is simply one example of the Governor’s interest in broadening the tax base for the state.
