Earlier this month, Amazon, the largest online retail business in the country entered into a voluntary collection agreement with the State of Wyoming beginning March 1st.

Even though the news comes at a time when Wyoming is facing an historic budget crisis, Novotny believes the main concern for local businesses lies in finding ways to keep sales from “leaking” to neighboring communities…

The Commissioner suggested there is a need to re-educate the community that shopping local supports the businesses that in turn fund local charitable causes, youth sports teams and school functions.
