Historic U.S. Highway 14 through Ranchester will be lit up on Friday night for a brief “Parade of Lights” through the town. The first ever Ranchester Parade of Lights will take place on Friday night at 7pm. Tracey Deromedi, manager of the Buckhorn Travel Plaza which organized the parade, said that it’s the first of its kind in Ranchester.

Deromedi added that although it will be a relatively short parade, people are invited to come to the Buckhorn afterwards for hot chocolate or to the Buckshot Saloon for food and drinks. She said that this parade is the first of what they hope turns into an annual event. The parade of lights along with the annual “Ranchester Hay Daze” event, are all part of an effort to revive events in the small town, which hasn’t hosted any in several years.

Deromedi said that the best way to watch the parade is to park anywhere along Highway 14. They are asking that since it is predicted to be cold, people keep their children inside of a warm car to view the parade.

The parade will start at Ranchester’s town hall at 7pm. Everyone is invited to come out and watch.
