November 4th 2021, Sheridan WYO Rodeo was awarded the 2021 Mountain States Circuit Large Rodeo of the Year. Following the cancellation of the 2020 event, the first time the rodeo had not been held since World War II, the 2021 performances did not disappoint. The July 2021 performances held the highest in attendance (24,396) and total payout in Sheridan WYO Rodeo history, dating back to 1931.
The Sheridan WYO Rodeo went up against some of the most established and loved rodeos in the North; Cheyenne Frontier Days, Denver Stock Show, Greeley Stampede, Laramie Jubilee Days, Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series, Cody Stampede, Evergreen Rodeo, Central Wyoming Fair & Rodeo, Rooftop Rodeo, Pike’s Peak or Bust Rodeo.
“Congratulations to the whole community on this, because we didn’t do this by ourselves,” said Billy Craft, WYO Rodeo board president.
The WYO Rodeo is planned to ride again July 12th through July 17th, 2022.
