Nellie “Jane” Giese, 94, of Sheridan WY, passed away on Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at Johnson County Healthcare Center in Buffalo WY. Jane was born on July 13, 1924, to parents Harley and Elisabeth (Stoll) Tidwell. She moved to Sheridan where she worked as a telephone operator and later as an art dealer. It was at the telephone company where she met her first husband Kenneth Kearns. Years after he passed away she married to her second husband Harlan Giese and lived in Bismarck, ND for many years. After Harlan retired they relocated back to Story, WY and then again to Sheridan where they remained. Jane had many friends in both the community and at her church, First Presbyterian. She enjoyed taking walks around her neighborhood, visiting the library to checkout books and magazines as well as dancing at the Elks Lodge with Harlan. Jane was a exceptional dancer in her youth and very proud of her tap dancing skills. She also took classes in interior decorating and loved to show people her beautiful furniture. She also enjoyed traveling with Harlan around the US. Popular destinations included Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Deadwood and Bismarck where they both had many friends and attended the yearly MDU Christmas party.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents Harley and Elisabeth (Stoll) Tidwel, her first husband Kenneth Kearns and her second husband Harlan Giese. She is survived by her son Micheal Kearns of Sheridan WY, nephews Fred Tidwell and Tom Tidwell of Las Vegas NV, stepchildren Patrice Giese of Grand Forks ND, Mary Johnston of Orofino ID, and David Giese of Tokyo, Japan.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 1st, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Paul Hayden officiating. A Reception will follow at the church.
