PRESS RELEASE:
SHERIDAN, WY— Missing in Action soldier Cpl. DeMaret Marston Kirtley, US Army, will be brought home to Kaycee on Thursday, June 27, 69 years after his death during the Korean War.
On June 27, his remains will arrive from Hawaii into Billings. He will be escorted from Billings to Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan. The procession will arrive in Sheridan at approximately 1 p.m., and sirens will alert when the procession reaches Main Street. Businesses and anyone in the downtown area are asked to step out to pay respect to Cpl. Kirtley and all military veterans when the sirens sound.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home. On Saturday, June 29, his remains will leave Kane Funeral Home at 7:30 a.m. to Kaycee for a public viewing and memorial service. Cpl. Kirtley will be laid to rest with his parents and other family members in the Kaycee Cemetery with full military honors.
