Mark Carlton Cole lost his bravely fought battle with AML on April 1, 2017. It consumed his body but never his spirit. Through his journey with illness he encouraged people to cherish the important things in life: family, friends, and making the most of the time we are here on earth.

Mark was born on March 28, 1954, in Tucson, AZ to Carlton and Gloria Cole. He was raised and went to school in Tucson. There he met his wife, Deborah, and on September 3, 1977, they married. They moved to Sheridan, WY where he went to work for Decker Coal Company, and later began their family.

To know Mark was to love Mark. He was a big, strong man with a good heart who would help anyone out. He was his own person. He had great personality, smile, and wit which he liked sharing with everyone he met. He meant what he said and said what he meant, unless he was bantering with you.

Mark enjoyed being outdoors, socializing, tinkering in his shed or garage, and having a goal for the day to accomplish. His passion was Harleys, Hot Rods, and Classic Cars.

Mark is survived by his mother; wife; children, Daniel Cole, Sarah Cole Raymer (Ben); brother Scott Cole; nephew Craig Cole (Rachel), and their children Alex and Ashlynn, and many loving in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father.

Special thanks to his extended family of friends in Sheridan who have so generously given of their time, talents, and resources to help Mark and his family through this difficult time.

Cremation has taken place. Mark’s ashes will be scattered in Tucson by his family at a date to be determined.

Memorials in honor of Mark may be made to benefit Rocky Mountain Ambulance Service 731 Broadway Street, Sheridan, WY 82801; or Hospice of the Big Horns P.O. Box 391, Sheridan, WY 82801.
