Lynne Irene Walker was born on February 10, 1931 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Chet and Jerry Cooley. She grew up and went to school in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School with the class of 1949. During her summers she worked at various dude ranches in the area.  It was at Teepee Lodge where she met J.G. “Jay” Walker, a wrangler and they were married on November 10, 1949 in Sheridan.  Lynne and Jay moved to Buffalo where they operated the Doby Court, Skelly Gas Station and Jay’s Drive Inn which was Buffalo’s first fast food drive in.  In the evenings after work they made fresh ice cream to serve for the next day.  Jay passed away in 1998 and Lynne continued living in Buffalo until her death.

Lynne was a very active lady who enjoyed playing golf, bowling, playing bridge, hunting arrowheads and gardening.  She loved animals and helped her children raise horses, rabbits and bum lambs for 4-H.  For years she and Jay’s yearly vacation was a pack trip into the high country in the Big Horn Mountains.  She was very at ease in the saddle and helped teach her children to ride at very early ages.  She enjoyed her dogs and raised and sold Yorkies for many years.

She was an active member of the Eastern Star for many years and very active in the Episcopal Church.  She loved her flowers, garden and beautiful large back yard where she hosted many large social gatherings.  Her passion was her children and grandchildren and her many friends.

She is survived by two sons, Bob Walker and his wife Elaine and Bill Walker all of Buffalo; six grandchildren, Melissa, Daisy, Anna, Vanessa, Jay and Susie and eleven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jay, one brother Phil Cooley and one daughter Jeri Lynne (Gege).
