POWELL, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming man is getting his long-lost high school class ring back after it turned up during sewer work.

Crews in Powell have been flushing out storm drains. They’ve been using a vacuum truck to collect the grit and trash that comes loose.

The Powell Tribune reports city worker Levi Kary found a 1991 Powell High School class ring in the debris.

The ring was engraved. Kary looked online and soon found the owner — Gary Bessler, of Buffalo.

Bessler recalls a friend lost the ring when he gave it to her to wear one night in 1991. He says he was pretty upset but eventually forgot all about it.

Kary says he’s mailing the ring back to its owner.
