Potholes in Buffalo’s city streets will be a bigger concern this year than in recent years, according to City Works Director Les Hook, who spoke to the city council at their meeting this week. Hook explained that the roadway on Erie Drive has only 2 inches of asphalt, and the ground underneath has become soft, causing the asphalt above to break up. He believes the roadway will be a total loss. He told the council he recommends reconstructing the street with concrete, as well as Delaware Drive.
