Sheridan, WY— Logging activity in the Granite Pass area on the Bighorn National Forest will be starting soon.  The activity is part of the Bitmore Reoffer Timber Sale.  Snow removal on Forest System Road 277 will begin on April 3, 2019, with anticipated logging operations beginning on April 6, 2019.

The Forest Service is discouraging public use of Forest System Road 277 in order to minimize conflicts with logging traffic; and snowmobilers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the surrounding area until operations end on or around May 1, 2019.

Please pay attention to the Bighorn National Forest Twitter feed, @bighornUSDA, and Facebook page, www.facebook.com/bighornnf/ , for operation updates.

For more information, please contact Medicine Wheel District Ranger, Dave Hogen, at 307-765-4435 in Greybull or Forest Service Representative, Pam Cooper, at 307-674-2649 in Sheridan.
