SHERIDAN, WY– Officers with the Sheridan Police Department responded to a reported theft over the weekend, after a Lodge Grass man allegedly stole a gun from Rocky Mountain Discount Sports, a car from a parking lot nearby, and then gas from a convenience store.
According to Lt. Travis Koltiska with SPD, officers apprehended the man without incident after locating the stolen vehicle at a convenience store, but only learned he was the same individual that had stolen the gun after the fact.
Officers arrested 29-year-old Michael Bearclaw from Lodge Grass, MT. According to Koltiska, Bearclaw was subsequently charged with theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of theft, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, one count of theft of fuel, interference with a police officer and driving under suspension. Bearclaw’s initial appearance is set for January 22, 2019.
