SHERIDAN, WY— Two Sheridan College Students have organized a cleanup day for the Tongue River Canyon Trailhead this weekend.

Hannah Abrams and Zach Granger initially organized the event as part of a project on corporate-social responsibility for their Business Ethics class at Sheridan College. Abrams said that the two partnered with the Wyoming Wilderness Association to organize a trailhead cleanup day.

Granger added that the duo reached out to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to see what else they could do to improve the trailhead, which resulted in the idea to place three picnic tables at the trailhead for public use.

Abrams and Granger asked that anyone interested in attending the cleanup RSVP by 12 P.M. on Friday. The cleanup will convene at Sheridan College’s Parking Lot A at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday where participants will be asked to fill out a waiver. The party will then depart from there and begin cleanup of the trailhead at 10.

Participants are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather and for work (i.e. sunblock, hats, gloves, etc.).
