History was once again brought to life on Saturday during the Jim Gatchell Museum’s Living History Day.

Area residents and tourists alike enjoyed Basque food and dancing, music, blacksmithing, guns and games on the lawn around the historic Johnson County Courthouse.

The museum opened its doors for free during the day, complete with brand new exhibits depicting the Cattle War and the literary work of local Longmire author Craig Johnson.
