Judith Elaine Lucas, age 76, of Sheridan, Wyoming, entered Eternity on the evening of October 19, 2018, in her home with Chuck, her devoted husband, at her bedside. Judy had fought a four-year battle with cancer and claimed ultimate victory as she stepped into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Memorial services will be held at 4 pm, Saturday, November 10th, 2018, at the Sheridan Wesleyan Church.
Judy was born in Anaconda, Montana, to Arthur and Laverne (Nichols) Holm on July 29, 1942. She grew up in Galen, Montana, and graduated from Powell High School in Deer Lodge, Montana, in 1960. After the loss of her mother, in 1962, Judy attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College in Miltonvale, Kansas followed by Stormontvale Nursing School in Topeka, Kansas.
Judy met Chuck during her time at Miltonvale Wesleyan, and on August 21, 1965, they were married. The couple moved to Denver and Judy had their first two daughters: Laura in 1967 and Melanie in 1969. Chuck and Judy took a pastoral position in Pueblo, Colorado, followed by another pastorate in Pierre, South Dakota. During their time in Pierre, Judy gave birth to two more daughters: Tammi in 1976 and Kristi in 1979.
They pastored in Williston, North Dakota for seven years before moving to Sheridan, Wyoming. Chuck and Judy served as pastor and wife at the Sheridan Wesleyan Church for 20 years until their retirement in 2007.
Judy was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, a nurse, friend, prayer warrior, and a vigilant minister. She was known for her gentle, caring manner, her wisdom, and for being tenaciously servant-hearted. She also worked as church secretary and lived out ministry alongside Chuck each day of her life. If you knew Judy, know that she loved you and prayed for you by name.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janette Parish.
