Last week, Sheridan Memorial Hospital announced that they will be receiving increased doses of the Pfiser vaccine after having used the Moderna vaccine since late December.

Johnson County Healthcare Center will continue to administer the Moderna vaccine according to CEO Sean McCallister… at least in the foreseeable future…

McCallister would be satisfied with either vaccine as both are believed to be about 95% effective in fighting the COVID-19.

Last week, it was announced that approximately 5% of Johnson County residents have been vaccinated, so when will the vaccines begin to win the fight against the pandemic?

McCallister believes it will take some time…

The hospital continues to receive an allotment of the Moderna vaccine weekly and both the hospital and Public Health are still working through Priority list 1a and 1b for healthcare workers, first responders, and those 70 years of age and older.
